First off, todays readings: Genesis 45-46 & Matthew 16.
Now, the questions of the week for the prior weeks readings:
1. When Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, who carried the wood?
2. Jacob, the trickster, is himself tricked by Laban. How?
3. Jacob loses Rachel as she bears which of his twelve sons?
4. Shortly after being sold as a slave in Egypt, Joseph’s position goes from bad to worse. Why?

#1) The ultimate in foreshadowing. Abraham has Isaac carry his own wood like Jesus will carry his own cross. Of course God doesn’t make Abraham actually sacrifice his own son.
