About the YOTB

A new Adult Education option for 2010/2011 year supports the Year of the Bible. Each week on Sundays at 9:45 we will gather together for a discussion of the week’s readings and prepare ourselves for what’s to come.  We encourage you to come to class with your questions from the week’s readings. What did that passage mean?  Who is that character?   Let’s talk about it and together we can help each other put the pieces together.

THE WHOLE BIBLE
     DURING THE WHOLE YEAR
          WITH THE WHOLE CONGREGATION

Have you ever wanted to read the WHOLE Bible, from cover to cover?  Have you ever attempted this special journey and stopped because you got discouraged and off track?

This is a special year in the life of Fairmount Presbyterian Church.  As an entire congregation, we will be reading through the WHOLE Bible in ONE year.

  • to become more familiar with the book that has influenced the lives of billions of people from ancient times to the present.
  • to draw strength and encouragement from God’s Word for your daily life.
  • to participate together with many in our congregation in a joint project with a common goal.

As each member of Fairmount seeks to be a minister it is important that we nurture our faith so that we remember who we are as children of God and how we are called to live in the world.  This Year of the Bible helps us to nurture that faith by reminding us of the ways God speaks to us through the written Word of God.
